  This paper points out 2 major issues with fundamental Chinese language education using one of the cause and effect sentence patterns “Yinwei... Suoyi...”. Firstly, this sentence structure cannot be treated as a frequent combination according to actual frequency of usage. Secondly, it also does not completely correspond to から in Japanese; causing negative transfer of mother tongue amongst Japanese native students. This paper will apply the researched step-by-step bilingual teaching methodology, by breaking it down into usage frequency and level of correspondence from high to low.
  To ensure the efficiency of students’ learning experience, a gradual approach is taken by starting with individual applications of “Yingwei” and “Suoyi” that are frequently used and correspond to native Japanese language. This is followed by the infrequently used structure of "Yinwei... Suoyi...” which has a low level of correspondence. Real-life simulation activities are also included, to ensure students can correctly express cause and effect by using “Yinwei” and “Suoyi”, and enhance their communication skills in Chinese language.
